1968 Firebird Convertible – 400 engine and 400 turbo trans., 120,800 miles, PHS documented. 3.55 Eaton posi rearend per previous owner, originally a 3.08 posi. I believe the motor and trans to be original, I was able to match the last 3 digits on the block to the VIN. Body-on restoration started in 2005 and completed in 2013. All body work was done by a local shop, no bondo. There are too many new parts to list, I have all part receipts. I have owned the car since 2003. Color was originally Vedoro Green, is now Autumn Bronze.Car has a power top, power steering, tilt wheel, power front disc brake conversion using 69 Firebird calipers, power windows, hood tach, center console and clock. Some of these options were added by a previous owner.
Exterior – Convertible top has a cut, highlighted in the pictures. New doors, quarter panels, inner and outer wheel wells, trunk lid, tail panel, inner and outer rockers, gas tank, wheels powder coated and painted, trim rings, tires, subframe mounts, trim moldings, rear wiring harness. Car has the original “shakers” at all four corners, original space saver spare tire.
Engine – New Hooker headers, exhaust system, fuel and brake lines, power brake booster, battery tray, dual correct horns
Interior – New floor, fronts seats recovered with new springs and foam, door and window seals, power top motor and lines, carpet, console frame, glove box, power window motors.
Suspension – Front rebuilt with new shocks, springs, upper control arms, bushings, pins, tie rods, wheel bearings.
Work needed – horn does not work - needs horn center, connect wire to clock,
all windows work but I have a
new power window harness, wiper motor is very weak - needs rebuilt, quarter window trim is missing, radio does not work.
Have original parts - upper control arms, exhaust manifolds, brake booster, power top motor, 2 extra rims and trim rings.
An on-site resale appraisal was done on 7/7/2021 by a local appraiser for a fair market resale value of ,995. I have the appraisal document.
