    Description

Hello! I am putting up for auction the pictured historic newspapers. The three Times-Herald (from Hampton, Virginia) and the three Detroit Free Press papers are complete. The USA Today and the Detroit News are just the first section. These are great for the history buff or anyone interested in vintage advertising. As you can see the newspapers cover the Nixon resignation, the Reagan assassination attempt, Ford's swearing in, the Iran Hostage Crisis and the capture of Saddam Hussein. The papers all show signs of age and have frayed edges and corners. I am not an expert, so please look closely at the photographs to make your own assessment on their condition. These are not in mint condition. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am more interested in getting these to someone who will appreciate their history than getting a big price. I don't have the materials to ship these as a collector would. I will however, put them flat in recycled plastic grocery bags and use cardboard around them to prevent bending. I will then pad the shipping box to help prevent movement. If you require additional protection, I can look into it for you but will need to up the price of shipping and handling to cover what I would need to buy. Thank you!
Note: Shipping is high due to the size of the flat newspapers. If you would prefer to have them folded, I may be able to get the cost down a few dollars and I will refund you the difference.
