From a very rare,  ~(one-of-a-kind Edition Series)~
one of 6 different female figures, each unique and emotionally
evocative pieces with great expression… depicting a
“Street Walker”  / “Lady of the Night” / “Working Girl”
reminiscent of  “La Dolce Vita” and the 1960’s Era that Fellini
made famous by his great Movie Genre celebrating Baroque
Images of Street Life with Pathos and Humor.
Popularly referred to as an
Italian
“Prostituta”
…she is dressed
in “Business Suit” and ready for battle.  Neither sexual nor erotic,
but rather, a
“Grotesque”;
using exaggerated gestures &
incredible body language to say it all!  She expresses the hard
reality of one of "the World’s Oldest Professions” with touch of
tongue-in-cheek humor - typically CIOLLI.
His expressive “signature style” gives a bold, new “twist” to the
Neapolitan Capodimonte. This should be considered a serious,
aesthetic piece, (more “ Art” than “Accessory”);  best boldly
displayed in a protective location...
illuminated Vetrine Cabinet, display shelf, or rear Back Bar.

HISTORY:
“ALDO CIOLLI”
(Firenze) ~ MODERNIST~
World renowned 20th c. Italian Sculpture Artist;  respected instructor
at the Ceramics Academy in Firenze.  Ciolli was a student of the famous
Ceramicist: Eugene Pattarino (1885>1971). Like him, creating stunning
figures of Historic fantasy and whimsy;  including Genghis Khan,
Warriors, Oriental, French Musketeers, Venetian Harlequins, as well as
traditional Religious Subjects and other exciting Figurines.
His award winning work is sold online at 1st Dibs, by Peachtree &
Bennett / Wright / & other "Artnet" listed Auctions.
This Figural Sculpture is
one of a unique series
, created over a period
of years by the Maestro; an
annual edition
used as an "eye-catching
attraction" at his Milano Exhibits.
We purchased these one-of-a-kind figurines, directly from the Artist’s
Studio …imported from Italy in the later 1970’s…together with other
items from his normal production.
